Getting Started as a Publisher
Welcome. As a publisher, you turn your audience's zero-party signals into recurring revenue without selling user data. This guide gets you from signup to first signal fire in under thirty minutes.
What you'll learn
- How publisher accounts work
- How to configure your first channel
- How to verify your domain
- How to fire your first signal
- What happens after the signal sells
Step 1: Sign up
Visit app.siedata.dev/signup, choose Publisher, and confirm your email. You start at Seed tier with no minimum volume.
Step 2: Configure a channel
A channel is the property where signals come from — your website, newsletter, app, or community. Open Channels → New and tell SIE:
- Domain (or app bundle ID)
- Audience size and topics covered
- How users opt in (newsletter, account, quiz, etc.)
Step 3: Verify the domain
We give you a TXT record. Add it to DNS — the dashboard polls every minute and flips green when it sees the record. Domain verification protects payouts from fraud.
Step 4: Install the CMP
SIE collects signals only with proper consent (TCF v2.2 in Europe, opt-in elsewhere). Drop our consent management script on your site — see CMP Install for the script tag and verification steps.
Step 5: Fire your first signal
Once consent is captured, signals fire automatically based on what your visitors do — page views, form submits, content consumed. Open Signals → Live feed to see them roll in. You'll usually see your first signal within 10 minutes of CMP install.
SIE classifies signals against the public catalog — 453 Intent Signals, 199 currently live. You don't configure rules; the system decides which signal a behavior maps to.
After the signal sells
When a buyer reveals one of your signals, your earnings tile updates within an hour. Payouts run monthly via Stripe Connect. Tier and rate depend on volume and quality — see Revenue Share.
